About

Why we built Apexion

Aadam and Leo came to this problem directly — from working inside renewable funds and commercial solar pipelines at scale. The same friction appeared every time: too much manual work, too many disconnected tools, and capital waiting on actionable data that should already exist.

History

From execution to infrastructure

Before building Apexion, we operated at the front line of commercial solar — generating over £300 million in pipeline across real assets and real operators.

That experience revealed a structural issue:

The market isn’t constrained by demand.
It’s constrained by visibility.

Critical information — ownership, occupancy, energy usage, decision-makers — is fragmented across disconnected systems, or missing entirely.

Apexion is the result of solving that problem at its root.

We’ve taken a manual, experience-driven process and engineered it into a scalable data infrastructure — designed to accelerate deployment across the entire market.

The Team

The people behind Apexion

Aadam Sheikh

CEO & Co-Founder

After spending over a year interviewing 500+ climate leaders — investors, energy CEOs, policymakers, and founders — I became focused on one specific bottleneck: the speed at which viable renewable projects get identified and progressed. Apexion is the answer to that. We started with commercial solar in the UK because the problem is most acute there, and the data is available to solve it properly.

Leo Mixides

CTO & COO

I've spent years in commercial solar — building pipelines and structures that generated $300M+ in revenue for renewable companies. The bottleneck was always the same: finding the right buildings fast enough. That's exactly what Apexion is built to solve, and why I co-founded it.

The Vision

This is the start, not the destination

Commercial rooftop solar is the wedge. The larger vision is a shared intelligence layer for deploying capital into infrastructure faster — starting in the UK, scaling into Europe and the US, and eventually spanning adjacent verticals: heat pumps, EV, retrofit, and beyond.
